The Sydey Harbour race course cover approx 4.4 kilometres from Woolwich to Darling Harbour. The course will make an initial dog-leg turn as the crews emerge from the mouth of the Lane Cove River at Woolwich and round Greenwich Point for the run down the inner Sydney Harbour. The crews will pass close to Long Nose Point, Birchgrove, pass across Snails Bay and squeeze between Simmons Point Balmain and Goat Island. From this point the crews will begin a slow turn to the south as they race past East Balmain Peninsula and into the final stretch. As they pass Darling St Wharf the finish line (The old Pyrmont Bridge) will come into view and the long straight into Darling Harbour will see the final sprints as each crew seeks the coveted title for 2012.
